The U.S. Department of State has authorized the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Hillsborough County to accept passport applications. The Clerk's Office cannot issue a U.S. passport. A passport can only be issued by the Department of State through regional passport offices. The Clerk's Office is a passport application acceptance agency.
Please be sure to bring at least two checks with you. Credit cards and cash are not acceptable at passport application acceptance agencies.
Fee Increase: Effective in 2010, the cost for a first-time passport and renewal for ages 16 and older is $110. A first-time passport or renewal for ages 15 and younger is $80. Fees have also increased for passport cards, used for land and sea travel between the United States and Mexico, Canada and a few other Western Hemisphere countries. A first-time passport card for an adult costs $30, and a renewal is $30. For minors, a passport card is $15, for first-time and renewal.
You will need two forms of payment:
Payment to the U.S. Department of State may be made by check or money order only.
The payment of $25 (Passport Acceptance Fee) to the Clerk of the Circuit Court may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover-3.5% service fee charged).
