PASSPORT APPLICATIONS NOTICE: Due to US passport operations limitations because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Clerk’s office is currently not accepting passport applications. Please visit the U.S. Department of State website [external link] for further assistance.
The U.S. Department of State has authorized the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court and Comptroller to be a U.S. passport acceptance agency. The application, identification, required documentation, and fees are collected and forwarded to the regional office of the Department of State, who will issue the passport. Most Clerk locations require appointments. Request a Passport Appointment. The Clerk's office does not process passport renewals for adults. Passport Photo Taking Services in Hillsborough County: The Clerk of the Court can photograph you for your passport application for a fee of $15 at two of their locations only: Brandon and Ruskin/Southshore. If you bring in your application to any other Clerk location, you will have to bring your own passport photos with you to the appointment. Certain Walgreens, CVS and FedEx locations that have photo departments provide passport photo services. AAA offices provide passport photo services. The UPS Store provides passport photo services. Some U.S. Post Office locations provide passport photo services. Many professional photography studios provide passport photo services. NOTE: Always call ahead to these passport photo providers to see if the location you want to visit offers this service, if a technician will be on duty at the time you want to have your picture taken, and if an appointment is required before you head over there.
