CLERK OF COURT & COMPTROLLER
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLORIDA
These are step by step instructions on how to look up your traffic ticket online and verify receipt of the school completion certificate for that ticket. If you already know how to look it up, then just click on this link for the HillsClerk HOVER Case Search system and go for it. if you are not sure, read the step by step guide below.
After you have clicked on the HillsClerk HOVER Case Search link, find your traffic ticket number on your copy of your traffic ticket, It should be on the top right side of the ticket, as shown circled in red on this sample picture. The citation number should also appear on the traffic school completion certificate.
If you misplaced your ticket, you can look it up using your name.
Make sure that both "I want to search by Case Number or Citation Number" and "Citation Number" (circled in red in the picture) are selected (they will appear gray; if one is not gray, click in it to select it and turn it gray). Type the citation number in to the box shown highlighted in yellow in the picture. Click on the blue "Submit" button.
If your ticket is in our system, you should see a result that looks similar to the picture above. If your ticket does not appear in the results, please check first to see if you typed the ticket number correctly. Click on the magnifying glass icon that appears in the left column labeled "View.".
A Case Information page will pop up. Look for "Events/Documents" and click on those words. Depending on how many events/documents are associated with your traffic citation, it may take a while to process, but eventually a list will appear. You want to look for an event/document under "Event Description" that is called "Notice of School Completion Certificate". If you see it listed there, then the Clerk received it. If you do not see it there, you need to contact your school, as they are responsible for submitting it electronically to the Clerk's Office. You can also mail in your certificate or come in person if your 60 calendar days are almost up and submit it to the Clerk to prevent suspension of your driver's license and additional assessment costs.
